Jess grew up with a passion for health and fitness was there from a young age, leading her to studying a Bachelor’s degree in nutritional science and also studying to become a personal trainer.. which quickly grew into a passion for Pilates!

The world of Pilates and its use in rehabilitation brought Jess to building on her Pilates skills and studying a Master’s degree in Physiotherapy. Now with more than 7 years of teaching Pilates and many more qualifications under her belt, she brings an extensive amount of Pilates knowledge and teaching experience to each and every class. As the first few years of her career have been focused on improving the service she provides, there came a time where she decided to combine her expertise with an unforgettable client experience and bringing a new standard of reformer Pilates classes to Cork.. and so, The Pilates BEAT reformer studio was born.

Jess believes that exercise should be enjoyed, and as a true Pilates advocate, she aims to help people discover a way to move in a way that feels GOOD for their body. The Pilates BEAT is all about the physical and mental benefits of exercise. With a focus on mindful movement and self-care, we aim to help you rediscover your me-time and bring you some balance to your busy life. The goal of The Pilates BEAT reformer Pilates is simply to make you feel amazing. To provide you with something that you look forward to doing, something you enjoy throughout and feel even better afterwards!

The Classes

The Pilates BEAT classes are a 45-minute reformer Pilates workout focusing on mindful movement. The reformer machine gives an experience to mat Pilates, but also provides additional resistance and support to give you a lot more out of each session.

Classes are of various levels from clinical reformer up to level 2, with Level 1 class being compulsory for those who have not used a reformer before.

Clinical classes are for those with special requirements such as back pain, osteoporosis, osteoarthritis or other managed conditions.

If you are new to Pilates or want a more gentle session you can attend a level 1 class. Your instructor will challenge you within class and inform you of when you should progress to the next level.
