Check out all of the frequently asked questions regarding booking, beginners, attending on the day and other queries you may have!

  • If you have not done reformer Pilates before, you can attend level 1 class or clinical reformer.

    Clinical reformer if you want a slower paced class, especially for those advised to do reformer by their Physio.

    Reformer Level 1 if you’re injury-free.

    Before your first class, you receive a welcome email to provide you with some pre-class learning before getting on the reformer.

  • Each body is different and depending on your own body, you may be suitable for classes or clinical classes.

    Please contact us before booking and we can guide you appropriately.

    Pilates is not a substitute for medical or physiotherapy treatment, so conditions need to be managed before progressing on with your classes.

  • The classes are not suitable for pregnancy. For those of you who are currently attending our classes, please inform your instructor before class if you become pregnant.

    We do not currently run antenatal classes and not all classes are suitable for pregnancy.

  • If you have attended reformer Pilates before, please contact us to see which level will suit you best as all studios are different. If you have attended advanced reformer before, Level 2 should be appropriate. Mixed level may suit to gauge where you are at.

    When you are attending the studio regularly, your instructor will move you on to the next level when we feel it is appropriate. Please ask the instructor before booking into the next level as we want to make sure everyone gets the most out of each class, in a safe and effective way.

  • The classes are Level 1, Level 2, mixed and clinical.

    If you’re completely new and want to work with the basics, it is required to start with level 1 or clinical.

    If you are unsure of which level class to attend, please get in touch prior to booking.

  • When a class is full, a waitlist is automatically created. By adding yourself to this, when someone cancels, you receive an email to inform you of the space available. Make sure you have opted in for email notifications when signing up. If you cannot make the class, after being added from the waitlist, make sure to cancel through the app or email us ASAP. Waitlist operates up until 12 hours before the class, you won’t get less than 12 hours notice.

    Don’t be afraid to join the waitlist, they move often and you will often get your spot.

  • There is a maximum of ten per class. This ensures that you get plenty of guidance and attention throughout the session from your experienced instructor.

  • We have a strict 12 hour cancellation policy.

    When you book a class, you are securing that reformer spot meaning no one else can use it. If you cancel within 12 hours, or don’t attend without cancelling, you are charged in full for the class.

  • Not all of our instructors are Physiotherapists, but we are all qualified, experienced and passionate Pilates instructors who are focussed on giving you the best reformer experience. While teaching, all of our staff are working as Pilates Instructors and not Physiotherapists.

  • No, the classes are taught by Pilates instructors, some with a background in Physiotherapy. When working, the instructors are teaching as Pilates Instructors and not Physiotherapists. They are not being delivered as Physiotherapy classes, and therefore may not be suitable for claiming the cost back on your insurance.

  • No, we don’t. Our studio owner, Jess is a chartered Physiotherapist who specialises in reformer Pilates and is working as a Pilates Instructor in studio. You can do 1:1 sessions with her as part of your rehab, as long as your condition/injury is currently being managed. Feel free to get in touch with us if you have any questions or concerns.

  • Yes, we have clinical reformer Pilates classes which are designed for those with lower back pain, osteoporosis, arthritis, etc.

    These classes are designed to strengthen core, improve posture and overall strength and flexibility.

    If you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to get in touch.

  • Grip socks are a REQUIREMENT for classes. No regular socks or bare feet allowed for the health and safety of yourself and others. If you do not have grip socks, they can be purchased at the studio for €20 or 2 pairs for €30.

    A bottle of water to keep you hydrated.

  • We have a great selection of trendy grip socks that you can purchase in studio before your class. They are €20 per pair or 2 pairs for €30 and come in various styles and sizes from UK3 to UK10+.

  • Ideally 2-3 classes per week to see benefits, but it depends on where you are right now and what else you are currently doing.

  • Please aim to arrive 5-10 minutes before your class. The front door is locked at exactly class time, with no late entry allowed. This is out of respect for the instructor and the clients who have arrived on time, and also for your own health and safety as the warm-up is very important. Please refrain from knocking or abusing our staff if you are late to class. We understand that things happen, but our policy is stated across our website and booking.

  • You can create an account using the form under the calendar here. Then choosing a class from the calendar, and you will be asked to choose a pass/pack to purchase.

  • The easiest way to manage your bookings after signing up is through the Mindbody app and searching for The Pilates BEAT in studios. You can then see your classes booked, cancel bookings and see your purchases.

  • The timetable is flexible, meaning you can book into any class without being tied to a course or the same time each week. If you want to attend the same classes each week, you can book them all separately.

    You can start at any time.

  • Waitlist: the class is full and there is a waitlist operating automatically to allow the next in line to enter the booking when someone cancels.

    Full: The class and the waitlist are both full.

    Call: The class is outside of the booking window, either starting soon or more than 1 months away. Message on Instagram if it is starting soon.

  • Yes, we currently run online programs and have an online class library available here.
